Ever watched Grand Designs and imagined what it would be like to live in one of the incredible houses?

Well now you can, as one of the most memorable properties featured on the show is for sale and it can be all yours - if you have a cool £1.45m sitting in the bank.

The famous 'Curvy Seashell house' from the Channel 4 series has gone on the market for the first time since it appeared on the show in 2005.

The unique four-bed home home which overlooks the River Teign received a lot of attention at the time thanks to its pale pink curving walls (hence the house's name) and corkscrew staircase tower.

The unusual property was built by Pat Becker in the garden of her home in Shaldon, Devon, and taking inspiration from its seafront location, was designed to look shell-like in its appearance.

Since appearing on Grand Designs, the property has remained in the same family – until now, when it has been listed for sale at an asking price of £1.45million.

Commenting on the sale of the unique home, estate agents Bradleys of Shaldon said: "As featured in the popular Channel 4 series of Grand Designs. The house was built in 2005, echoing a seashell design. This modern coastal property is situated in a prime Shaldon location, in the exclusive Horse Lane neighbourhood.

"Nestled between the extensive Botanical Gardens and the Ness Lawns, The Garden House offers fabulous estuary and coastal views."

"On the entrance floor, the accommodation offers a cloakroom, an open plan sitting/dining room with double-height windows encompassing the views and an exposed wooden ceiling emphasising the curvature of the convex copper roof."

The spacious feel also extends into the sunny conservatory area.

In terms of outdoor space, you've got multiple balconies, plus walled gardens accessed by a cobbled path.

"The extensive mature walled gardens, which have been imaginatively planted and cherished over the years, are accessed via a cobbled path meandering through to a handy gate leading down across the lawns to The Ness and Shaldon's beaches," the details continue.

Shaldon was voted one of the best places to live in the South West in The Sunday Times 2020 list, so you'll be buying in a covetable location too.

If you fancy living in a seashell inspired house by the sea you can do so through the Bradleys website.
